ChalkZone

Although Rudy and and Penny use to be the best of friends in grade school like many friends they grew apart over time. As Rudy grew up he started visiting chalkzone less and less until he almost forgot about Snap. Now in College Rudy and Penny happened to be at the same party. The two talked for hours like they never even stopped hanging out. At the end of the night Penny finally got the courage to ask about chalkzone. She had vivid memories of these great chalk adventures but didn’t know if it was all just in her imagination. With a little liquid courage in her she finally asked. Rudy laughed talking about how those adventures were true but he hadn’t visited chalkzone in years. He went on talking about how he was now kind of afraid of going back because he knew Snap would be infuriated with the fact that it took him so long to visit again. Penny and Ruby hung out for a few weeks and then Penny decided to bring up chalkzone again. She pleaded with Rudy that they go back assuring him that Snap would just be happy that he was there. One night Rudy had taken maybe one too many shots at a party to finally get the courage to get out his magic chalk draw the portal on a chalkboard in one of the rooms. They entered and all the chalk characters stared at them.  Snap emerged from the crowd of curious eyes. He began to yell demanding that they identify themselves and how they got here. Then Snap had a long pause and yelled “RUDY!”. He barely recognized Rudy and Penny It had been such a long time . The trio rejoiced but then the mood seemed to get a little grim. Snap explained to Rudy that the chalk characters had begun to disappear one by one. They realized that by Rudy’s frequent visits as a kid he kept characters there and when he did not go they were being transferred to a cage at the edge of chalkzone. It wasn’t until Snap disappeared that he found this cage. From then on Rudy and Penny made sure to visit chalkzone every so often and even drew more characters.

HW 6

 I've always been a sucker for x men and this movie was no different. I really like this poster because of its simplicity and the fact that they don't have a group picture like they normally do. I feel it has a mysterious feeling which works for this movie since we find out wolverines back story. I also really like that his claws are out in front of his face almost resembling bars in a prison cell making you think he was someones prisoner.

HW 4

I found this Ted Talk very interesting and eye opening. Design can be so helpful if we put our efforts into the right things. Tim talked about how we have to start thinking about the bigger picture. The questions we ask ourselves are very important. Just like he said we need find the balance between desirability, what humans need, technical feasibility, and economic viability.

HW #3

 I'd just like to say I loved the pieces of Dave Perillo they showed I really enjoyed his use of color. I related to when he said sometimes he sketches his ideas first but sometimes he feels inspired and jumps right into the project. I try my hardest to plan out ideas and sketch them out but much more enjoy jumping straight into a project. This article is very motivating hearing how Dave Perillo loves what he does and how his love for it just started through cartoons.What really got me thinking was near the end when he started talking about as an artist you have to find your own style and be unique. I have yet to fine my style but hope through experimenting with many different ideas it finds me.

HW #2

    Everything we see around us is design and this Ted Talk explained this perfectly. She slowly went through multiple things and how each related to design. The most interesting part for me was the gas masks. The way designers are trying to innovate them to be more comfortable so that people can have some simple pleasures while wearing them like a refreshing sip of soda. She was trying to say that designers are here to look at things in a creative way, whatever that something may be. Their work can be any where from gas mask to high end fashion and everything in between. We should constantly be looked at how we cant make things better and more functional. Just because something isn't broken doesn't mean it can't be better.
